Kranskop Wines

41 km From Rumali

At Kranskop passion is bottled from the vinyards, into the perfect combination of aroma, taste and image.

“What a dream!!”
With this euphoric comment noted in the visitor’s book, well-known winemaker Newald Marais, saluted Kranskop Winery on 9 April 2003. Never imagining that years later, he would return to the Breede River Valley as the proud owner of this remarkable boutique wine estate.

Although the cellar’s first production year was in 2001, stories of yore date the first vines planted circa 1792. The craggy, rocky ledge atop Kranskop was inspiration for the hill’s name. And its rugged stature and striking visual appeal deeply influenced the look of the winery.

Van Loveren Family Vineyards

PASSIONATELY PERFECTED OVER

Nuy Winery

80 km From Rumali

Nuy Winery is situated in the beautiful Nuy Valley on the R60 between Worcester and Robertson at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains in the Western Cape. The average rainfall is low, but the privately owned Keerom Dam, the largest of its sort in South Africa, ensures a year-round water supply.

During winter and spring temperatures remain quite low due to periodic snow on the mountains. This promotes slower growth of the fruit, resulting in healthy, flavourful grapes. Only 3% of the cellar’s total annual production of 17 000 tons is bottled under the Nuy Winery brand. Only the best is reserved for each bottle of Nuy wine.

Arabella Wines

35 km From Rumali

"At Arabella we have a very simple objective: we endeavour to make the best wine possible. Achieving this goal is our passion.

The name Arabella was chosen as a word play on the beautiful Arabian horses, which grace its verdant pastures. Stephen de Wet and son Jamie are both very keen endurance riders. Jamie received his national colours in 2004.

Stephen heads up the viticulture, stud and winemaking departments. Jamie heads up logistic, bottling, labeling , distribution , administration, sales , marketing, advertising and the brand.

Arabella is thus a complete family business in which every family member is passionately involved."

Bonnievale Wines

46 km From Rumali

We make wines that reflect the slopes, soils and climate they come from, for people who enjoy them.

This pursuit is the endeavour of many people and many years. The communities deep-rooted in wine growing for generations are a proud part of the Bonnievale wine brand.

The Bonnievale story and the winery itself came about through the collaboration of local farmers and was initiated in the early 2000s. These farmers understood that a region’s best and most enjoyable wines can only be made with the widest selection of fruit from a vast terroir.

Viljoensdrift

39 km From Rumali

Viljoensdrift nestled south of the Elandsberg Mountains, on the banks the Breede River, the lifeblood of the Robertson Wine Valley, is home to the Viljoen family whose heritage of winemaking dates back to 1818 when their French Huguenot forefathers first planted vines. Today brothers Fred and Manie Viljoen continue this proud tradition and, after humble beginnings in 1998, they are producing award-winning wines with global appeal.

Viljoensdrift’s success can be attributed to their pioneering spirit, the quality of teamwork from vineyard to cellar and their deep-rooted commitment to working in harmony with nature. Five generations of Viljoens have lovingly toiled the fertile deep alluvial, calciferous-rich soils fed by the life-giving Breede River which allow the vineyards to flourish. The terroir lends itself exceptionally well to the growing of noble varietals such as Shiraz, Pinotage and Chardonnay.
